Thank you for offering to help with the digitasatioin of our library. To ensure consistancy across the library, it is important that everyone who is scanning music follows these guidelines, so that the music is clear and easy to read, which is kinda the point of doing it!

So, please use the following as a guide:

Scanning Guidelines

-PDF format only, please (no .jpg, .png, or any other image format).
-If a part has multiple pages, please ensure that you create a multi-page pdf, not multiple single-page files.
-Try to get the edges of the music to be as parallel as possible to the edges pf the page.
-Black and White only please. No monochrome, shades of grey or colours. Only blacks and whites (this can usualy be set in your scanning software settings.
-Full-size PDFs – rather they were too big than too small. But don’t go silly large!
-If there are multiple copies of a part, please pick the cleanest/neatest to scan – as few pencil marks, scrunches, tears etc as possible!

All of that should produce a nice clean scan, that is easy to read and easy to file. For an example, click here.
